Our school

How we work

A few keys to how our school works.

Fostering independence

Children are encouraged to become active in their daily life from the very first self-care gestures: dressing, undressing, taking part in hygiene routines. This participation begins with language, then gradually moves to concrete actions, supported by the adult. The aim is to foster independence and self-confidence by giving children opportunities to explore, make choices and solve situations in a safe setting.

An environment designed for independence

The space is arranged to encourage independence and self-directed learning. Materials are easily accessible and child-sized. Order and beauty are central: every item has its place. Low, child-height shelves encourage initiative. Clearly defined work areas help children understand order and limit distractions.

Partnership with families

A relationship of trust and cooperation with families is essential. Parents are invited to take an active part in school life, sharing what they know about their child’s needs and joining activities and events such as the school carnival.

Rich, progressive learning materials

Montessori materials are chosen to support the child’s overall development: the senses, fine motor skills, concentration and independence. Each material has a precise aim and fits into a logical progression. The Pink Tower develops the perception of sizes and volumes; the coloured cylinders refine touch and sight; the golden beads make mathematical ideas concrete.

Freedom within limits and inner discipline

Within a structured framework, children freely choose their activities and spend as much time as they need on them. This freedom, framed by clear rules, fosters self-discipline, respect for others and a sense of responsibility. Discipline emerges naturally from this guided freedom.

Commitment to gender equality

We promote gender equality by valuing mixed activities and deconstructing gender stereotypes. Times for discussion and awareness are offered to children, families and professionals.

A caring, inclusive educational project

Our approach respects each child’s pace and needs. Inspired by Montessori pedagogy and in line with the aims of the French national curriculum, our project offers a rich, stimulating and equitable environment.

The educator’s role: guide and observer

The educator does not impose learning but supports the child’s development as an attentive guide. They observe, support and offer activities at the right moment, encouraging independence, confidence and experimentation.

An individualised approach

Each child is recognised in their uniqueness, with their own talents, pace and interests. A flexible yet structured framework nurtures their natural curiosity and helps them become independent, confident and open to the world.

A mixed-age learning community

Mixed-age groups form a true educational community. Younger children benefit from the example of older ones, who in turn develop responsibility and empathy. This dynamic fosters cooperation, solidarity and a strong sense of belonging.
